I have an advanced interest in dinosaurs, and have a relatively good knowledge of them to boot. My problem seems to be that recently I don’t know whats really “breaking news” when it comes to dinosaurs. Anything from “Velociraptors aren’t what they seem in JP” to “Here is a new thing we learned about T-Rex’s!”
Is there a website out there that would update me on the new and recent goings on in the dinosaur world?
The Dinosaur Mailing List, while not a website per se, is where you are most likely to find cutting-edge information about dinosaurs. Many dinosaur paleontologists participate on the list, and that’s usually the first place you’d hear about any new papers.
Barring that, various blogs such as can be found via Scienceblogs.com will often have similar information.
The Dinosaur Mailing List is a favorite of mine as well, but it can get quite technical sometimes; if you’re looking for breaking news but not as interested in reading discussions about papers, you might like ScienceDaily.com.
Go to news.google.com and set up a news alert (left-hand column) for “dinosaur” or “dinosaurs”. You could have multiple alerts for your favourites. “Stegasaurus”, “Triceratops”, or my personal favourite, “Baryonyx”.
