dinosaur teeth

so what was the largest tooth size of a dino (lengthwise) and the tooth size of an adult t-rex… id be interested to know, so if anyone can help me out there, id much appreciate it… thanks ~J

I don’t know what the largest T-Rex tooth found is, but I’ve seen real fossils and a lot of casts. They’re typically about 6" long and look somewhat like flattened bananas. There really is a slight serration at the edges. They make a definite contrast with the teeth of sauropods (“brontosaurs” – even though there technically is such a beast – and other “long necks”), which are always described as “peg-like”. They are – they look like cylinders about 1/2" in diameter and maybe one to a couple of inches long. I’m surprised how little structure they have, but they clearly weren’t made for biting through flesh.
