Dirt from a grave

My mother passed away July 14, 1996.
20 years ago. Today my buddy drove me to visit her, and i was kind of pissed off to see that her marker was almost overgrown. My buddy helped me clean it up , and i brought some of the dirt home to put in the flower beds. I’m really drunk again, I’m sorry everybody

I’m sorry for your loss. Glad you had a good friend to help you out and be with you today.

I am too

Since most people reading this probably have a parent still alive, the important thing is for them to know that you would do that, too. They already know, but it wouldn’t hurt to tell them.

This is part of the reason I wish to be cremated. My parents are still living, but all of my grandparents have passed. The only time I have visited their graves are when their spouses passed away. My parents haven’t visited their parent’s graves in about 7-8 years.

The thought of my body lying in a grave with the marker overgrowing with weeds, etc. and having years, decades pass since someone I loved comes to visit, is extremely depressing to me.

My spouse and children know that I wish to be cremated and that there are about 4-5 different places (that are extremely important to me, that I wish to have my ashes scattered. If my spouse wishes to keep some of my ashes in a container for her to remember me by, then that’s great.

If movies have taught us anything, it’s that the contents of any cremation urn will eventually be spilled in a comic mishap.
