Dirty Harry, 1971 begins with a close-up of a Granite memorial with the following inscription.

The memorial is inscribed with a list of Slain Officers Names and date of death. I copied the first three. Google confirms their authenticity.

Is the Granite memorial real?
Google makes no mention of it either way.
I’m certain other people have asked the same question.

Your Google foo is a lot better than mine.

I spent an hour trying various search terms.
Found lots of slain police officers. No memorial.

Tribute is one word I never considered or tried. I was searching for police memorial. Like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
