I wrote a Yelp review and it’s not there anymore. Or rather, it’s there but it’s been filtered out so that it’s no longer visible for anyone who does a search on the business. And the only reason I can think of for this is that my review was too glowing. I only spoke the truth, though.
Yelp can kiss my shiny high-yellow ass.
I think one of my reviews went into hiding for a while, but it came back. I read their ‘filtering’ article, and things seem to go in and out.
Yelp sent me an email with a gossipy tone something to the effect of, “So what’s up with your review of <Local Medical Clinic>?” Sure enough, I checked and my negative review had poofed, never to return.
Someone needs to write a negative review of Yelp on Yelp.
I’ve heard that sometimes, if you don’t have enough friends on Yelp, the filtering software assumes you’re a bot and hides your reviews.
It took awhile for my Yelp reviews to start appearing regularly, and not just because of bots - there are apparently also drive-bys by competitors.
That said, I still have no friends there.
