You have an NBA team? Really? You’re pulling my leg, right?
I know where Memphis is! I just drove through it on Friday, on my way back to Toronto! And crossed the Mississipi! It was exciting!
Before that I really couldn’t have told you where it was, but I’m an ignorant Canadian. My word, I guess we just barely missed the storm. And this is the first time I’ve heard anything about it mentioned- it definitely didn’t make the Canadian media.
Hmm, I’m not sure if you’re whooshing me or not, so I’ll go ahead and answer…
Yes, the Vancouver Grizzlies moved here in 2001. They were a 1996 expansion team in Vancouver, but the owner, Michael Heisley, apparently had some kind of delusion about making money and winning games, neither of which was happening there, so he moved them here. It is probably worth pointing out that they’re still not winning many games or making much (if any) money.
Lissla Lissar, that’s quite a drive to Toronto; the Mississippi River is amazing, isn’t it? I always take out-of-town friends down to see it.
Yes, it was. In a small car, with four other people, and only fifteen-minute stops.
Three of the four people were over six feet tall. They took up a lot of space.
Sorry for the hijack.
