I want to set up a discussion list on my internet domain. My hosting company provides Mailman for me to use, but it won’t work for me. I need to have the member lists stored in a database (MySQL) so that the list of members can be easily maintained and shared with other applications.

Is there any available software (PHP preferably) that will do this?

It sounds like phpBB is what you want.

Good idea, but I do not want a bulletin board. I want it email based.
