I think there’s the potential for a lot of cautionary fables. For example, The Man Who Cried “Lock Her Up” in which he, of course, ends up getting locked up himself.

“Disgraced” is not something the Republican party and its base actually is capable of showing anymore. Ollie North is still a hero. Newt Gingrich is working for Fox News. No matter what occurs, the base will believe Trump is, if not blameless, then just a really good businessman who took advantage of loopholes. And, as long as there is still money and power to be had, the Republicans in power will continue to be apologists.

Trump, himself, is incapable of considering himself disgraced, and the base will continue to believe him.

The only reason Trump got elected was because a massive campaign of lies conducted by foreign enemies and criminals convinced a significant number of people that neither option was better than the other, resulting in them staying home and allowing Trump to squeak by on his losing numbers thanks to national (and founding-father intentional!) gerrymandering.

The gerrymandering will remain. The hostile foreign powers and criminals will remain. But this time 65% of america cannot possibly be convinced that any other option is as bad as Trump.

Trump may remain president until the natural end of his term. (Though I kind of doubt it.) To remain president after that would literally require widespread vote tampering by literal enemies of the state.

We now have inmate Trump, a man who had access to all of the United States’ most closely held secrets and a man who has absolutely no qualms about burning down the country for his own benefit or amusement, in prison. First of all, there is no evidence that he ever read one sentence of any intelligence briefing. Any secrets that he was made privy to were likely oral briefings only, which went in one ear and, meeting no resistance, went out the other. Since none of what he heard affected him financially, there would have been no reason for him to remember one single word. And if he did remember anything, the odds against him being truthful in retelling any of it are astronomical. Finally, his fellow inmates would be in no position to exploit any information they would get from him.

But it still wouldn’t hurt to put him in solitary.
