My wife is giving an paper on the music of Snow White at an academic conference next week and she’s realized that she doesn’t know the correct pronunciation of the name of one of the animators who worked on the project. His name is Hamilton (Ham) Luske. Any animation fans out there? Is his last name pronounced “lusk” or “lus-key”?
Drop an e-mail to Eutychus, a member (and former moderator) here who is something of a recognized expert on Disneyana. Expect a short delay in response, though; there are personal concerns that may intervene to prevent him answering quickly (mentioned in another thread, and I don’t wish to say more than that).
I don’t have anything definitive since all I’ve known about him has been in print, but in discussions I have had with other Disney fans I’ve always heard it pronounced “Lusk.”
