Do bands nowadays have multiple singers?

The Blood Brothers had two singers (see, e.g., “Love Rhymes with Hideous Car Wreck”).

Crazytown had two singers.
The Who would switch it up every now and then.
The Drive By Truckers do it now quite often rotating between 2-3 singers, as do the Raconteurs,
The Roots also vary it up once in a while, and so do The Presidents of the United States,

  1. Both singers sing on most songs, but some are done completely by one or the other.

For the first two cds, Veruca Salt had two singers (Nina Gordon & Louise Post)who sang lead on varying tracks. The Flesh has tracks with a male singer, and others with a female singer. The Magnetic Fields and I believe The Mendoza Line do as well.

Both Chris Murphy and Patrick Pentland sing lead vocals for Sloan.

Old 97s has Rhett and Murry and Ken takes a whirl on “Alive & Wired”.

System of a Down has/had multiple vocalists.

Liam and Noel Gallagher have both been lead vocalist on Oasis hits.

I was going to mention Sloan. All four members of Sloan sing lead vocals from time to time and I know Andrew Scott sings lead vocals on at least one single (People of the Sky).

Hey!! My drummer produced their first album We Are Pilots!!

Depeche Mode. David Gahan and Martin Gore share the lead vocal duties.

Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma split lead vocal duties on most of Blue Oyster Cult’s albums, and Albert Bouchard sang a lot when he was in the group.

OOh, forgot about the Dead Milkmen featuring Joe Jack Talcum and Rodney Anonymous.

Only on the songs he wrote, which made him, in my mind, the George Harrison of the Kinks.

The Aussie band Cat Empire has two male singers, Felix Riebl and Harry James Angus, who take turns handling the vocals.

When he’s not singing, Harry also plays a damn fine trumpet.

Alkaline Trio has two singers, Dan and Matt
Hot Water Music had multiple singers too

Both Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz are credited with the lead vocals on Words. Micky did most of the singing on that number, but Peter did a darned fine job with his soulful vocals.

The *Pointer Sisters *took turns with leads too.

Yellow Submarine never went to number one in the USA. Actually till 1975 Ringo was having more success as a solo than the other Beatles had going solo. With two number ones and other top ten songs.

John Oates had a rare song issued as a single Possession Obsession, his voice was good but it lacked the soul type of sound Darryl Hall had.
