I know that certain bacteria can cause the cells near the stomach lining to secrete acid which then attacks the cells themselves, as highlighted here.
But what foods actually cause greater amounts of stomach acid to be created in the first place? Do any particular foods cause the exacerbation of the reaction(s) of any bacterial agents? I know it’s bad to eat rotten foods. But I’m pretty sure when I eat grapes, my stomach feels like it’s producing more acid.
