Do dudes text?

[QUOTE=ArchiveGuy]
Come to think of it, the only people I’ve ever texted are women (but then again, I know very few dudes who know my cel # in the first place). Hmmmm…

This cracked me up :smiley:

Always one for the socializing, hey?

Actually, after I posted this I realized I never wish my brothers happy birthday.

But I don’t think someone is unmanly if they do. Would you seriously think less of someone for such a thing?

I’m very pro gay, so no, I wouldn’t think less of them.

:cool:

I text alot and I have many male friends that text me. I would rather text then talk on the phone anyways.

it usually takes us 5min to find the letter “T”.

If you’re 40, maybe.

So by logical extension the most manly thing to do of all is to be a hermit eschewing all human contact and, particularly, speech. :rolleyes:

Damn, it’s like you can SEE me from where you are!

“Hey the address is 123 main st. 7pm. # is (123) 456-7890 if you get lost.”

Tell me a phone conversation is better than that. Especially if you don’t want to interrupt the person you’re texting. Or if they might be driving or in a noisy place or a possibly with a client or patient. Or does all that mean nothing to you?

That reminds me of something that happened to me last year. I was picking up a drum kit my nephew had bought on line to deliver to him. The woman who sold it rather than explaining how to get to her place (it was tricky) had 2 saved messages according to the direction you were coming from. She sent me one that had her name, address, phone number and directions. Saved me either forgetting it or having to write it out.

Young whippersnapper! It takes ME 5 minutes to find the T on a rotary phone! Dagnabbit!

I was in an upscale DC restaurant recently for lunch. Four guys, 40ish, in suits, at the next table. Three of them were working their Blackberries like the Tetris world championship. Maybe it was work related but I can’t shake the feeling that they were talking to each other.

I claim real men avoid texting. Certainly not after college.
