Do electronic pest repellers work?

I have rats in the back yard. They get to my yard by climbing the cable lines, onto the roof, and then jump into the fruit trees. They are eating my dad’s fruit and vegetables. They play loud games outside my bedroom window at night.

These are HUGE rats. Nasty beast who I am sure are not sanitized for our protection and are carrying diseases and fleas and all icky kinds of stuff. They give me a heebie jeebies, naturally.

I don’t want to put out poison or mouse traps since there are possums and cats who roam the neighborhood and I don’t want to harm either them or other nice animals that have managed to survive city living. I know I am going to have to invest in a “no-kill” trap. Then let my dad kill the rat after it is caught (as you can see I want these pests dead).

But I am intrigued by the idea of just running them off. So, do electronic pest repellers work? Will it also run off the cats (I don’t want to do that since the cats are just passing thru on their way to roam the neighborhood)? Will it bother the dogs, mine and the neighbors (I definitely don’t want them barking all nite)?

No, they don’t work.

[slight aside]Not only dont the mammal repellers work, the cockroach repelling versions make nice, warm little cockroach houses.
