In a book I have devoted to “Are You Being Served?”, they mention that two series were made in Australia in the early 80s. They were adapted from episodes already aired in the UK, but with different character names and actors. John Inman even reprised his role as Mr. Humphries for the series.
Australia is the UK’s inconveniently located Canada.
Speaking of Canada…
Degrassi had episodes where the characters went to New York or LA. Some of those episodes were at least partially shot in the US. The LA one guest starred Jason Mewes.
Trailer Park Boys had episodes where the boys traveled to the US. I believe it was to see a model train show, but then they ended up meeting Sebastian Bach, and later arranging to sell him hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of weed. Bach played himself, and paid them in cigarettes. I don’t know if they actually shot any of it in the US.
