Do I still need to specifically ask for unleaded gas at the gas station?

?

No. All gas commonly sold is unleaded. If leaded gas is available, it would take some searching or inside knowledge to find it.

Agreed. Having worked in a gas station, I always wanted to give people who asked for unleaded a smack. I had one woman once who came in and chewed up ten minutes of my time asking if the regular was unleaded. Apparently the fact that I’m too young to have ever seen leaded gas at a pump didn’t tell her anything, nor the fact that I kept telling her that all our gas is unleaded. I even told her that if she needed leaded gasoline, we had wonderful lead substitute for sale under the window.

Sorry for the rant. No, you definitely don’t.

[hijack]Take your car into Mexico, though, and then you might. Or you’ll just have to ditch your catalytic converter because you won’t find any unleaded. One of the two. [/hijack]
