Do many Russians/Germans/Poles still hate each other?

You probably know that relations between China and Japan have long been poisoned due to… unpleasantness that occurred in the late 1930s/early 1940s. There was also a lot of mutual hostility between Germans, Russians and Poles during the same period, I forget what historians call the conflict.

Do individuals in these nations still hate their old enemies? Poland got truly fucked over by both the ‘black death’ and ‘red plague’. German atrocities in Russia and against their prisoners killed millions, and the Russian orgy of rape and destruction across Germany that they undertook in revenge is still a touchy subject for Russian historians.

Anyone have any insights? I know a fair few Poles and to my surprise they seem to have (mostly) forgiven the Germans and Russians for the sins of their forefathers, as well as their betrayal by Britain and France. Don’t know any Russians or Germans to ask, though.

They called that conflict World War 2.

For Russians it’s the Great Patriotic War, tovarish!

Whatever you do, don’t mention the war!

Or the Treacle Tarts–Fawlty’s food is the worst!

Based on the Russians I’ve known, they still don’t like the Germans that much.
