I was just going to mention the Energy Vampire!
I 100% thought of Colin.
To answer the OP I don’t think more people believe in demons. As is the answer to many things social media gives them a platform and allows them the comfort of expressing their beliefs in public. Seeing a lot of posts from people like that it’s clear the they really really want to believe magic is real.
If there are more adherents to religious groups more likely to believe in demons than in the past, possibly. I don’t know if that’s the case, though. Christians who don’t take the Bible literally are less likely to believe in demons, I would think. Given that there are more people than ever who identify as nonreligious, I’d bet on no.
I think I know how I would feel if I was intimate with someone and they accused me of being a demon, or even demon possessed.
And what if they accused you of causing their endometriosis and cysts?
One of our technicians took it upon himself to decorate a pressure gauge in his work area with a little cutout of a cartoon character; it sort of looked like Leopold from Scary Gary. (The cutout was mounted behind the gauge; when the gauge would vibrate excessively, it looked like the little guy was shaking the gauge.) Another employee complained about this to management, saying the character looked demonic. The employee who complained was in his 20s at the time.
