Some members of my family are racist, and I have learned that calling them on it is not productive. I still love my family. Making someone confront the most hateful, irrational and ugly part of themselves is a good way to destroy any relationship you had with them.
Not necessarily. If I’m trying to sell something, and the best way to increase my sales is by putting ads in Spanish on freeway billboards, I ought to be able to do it. There’s dozens, probably hundreds of examples around the world of areas with mixed ethnicity who get along just fine providing official government literature in more than one language.
There would be something SERIOUSLY wrong with writing legislation that would “force” people to learn and use English. The country hasn’t changed for anyone, like you claimed. The country itself is made of different people than you would like, and requires different standards to meet the needs of its residents than you’d like.
