Do people predict you?

Are you predictable?

There’s a guy at work who, when it’s his turn to make the coffies asks everyone individually except me.
He makes me one though. He never asks because I never say no.

Any people like this at your place of work (or anywhere) that know you well enough to predict you in some way?

I have a buddy who always gets a chicken burrito at one restaurant, and a pepperoni pizza at another, among other restaurant-specific-examples. It’s funny when he’s about to order, and somebody else interjects, basically ordering for him.

For the most part, no. The exception is at $tarbucks. All of the baristas know my drink and will begin making it before I even get inside unless they’re slammed. Occasionally, I will change the number of pumps of mocha syrup I get in my drink, but everything else remains constant. I am never predictable elsewhere. There are a few places I go to when I am in the mood for a specific thing, but those are the once-in-a-blue-moon places, so the employees don’t know me.

Oh, wait, there is one other thing that pretty much everyone predicts. If I say “guess what?” they always answer with “you loathe people?” Yep. That’s me in a nutshell.

My wife. She knows me.

Yes, I think I’m pretty predictable. I believe it helps people in terms of dealing with me. I expect it makes me boring , but at least you know what’s coming!

Look on the positive. Think of it as being consistent.

People predict I’ll do something crazy or say something stupid, and they are usually right. Does that count?

I was predictable one time, and the lunch lady in the plant cafeteria made up a ham and swiss on rye, geman mustard before I even asked. Okay, but then the next day she asked and I pleasantly said “Oh, the usual”. Whereupon she had a hissy fit “What do you mean the usual?! I have a hundred people coming through here and you want me to remember all of them? Get real, smartypants” And I slunk out and went to the vending machines from then on.

No I am not. In any way. No barista would ever dare try to predict what I will have and no restaurant has a chance. They might be able to if I have absolutely had everything on the menu but on item, I’ probably have that.

Nope not my wife either, I just asked.

That’s true; I hadn’t thought of that. Consistent isn’t scary and the last thing I want to be perceived as is scary, at least to my friends and family. So it’s all good!
