It’s pronounced “teh interwebs”.
I’ll often get a chuckle from my (college) students when I say that. Even “The World Wide Web” works… especially because our department advisor tells students that in order to register they need to: “first, you’re going to get out on the World Wide Web…” (even though I’ve pointed out that the students are going to connect to a server down the hall, so it’s not “out” at all…)
