Do they make these type of eyeglasses? (clear lens on top, "reader" lens on bottom)

Here is one review:

The sticker is about the magnification strength of the reading portion of the lens (in diopters). It is easily removable.

mmm

But the next reviews say:

No, it’s part of the plastic lens, not a stick-on. The lenses seem to be two separate pieces of hard plastic with the inner one formed with the “reading” area.

No. They are legit bifocals

No, it is part of the lens.

So I guess you take your chances…

The ones I got were real progressives. Started at 0 diopters for about the first third, then in the second third they slowly change from 0 to the chosen power. I believe they are also advertized as ‘computer glasses’, the idea being that you can look at the screen through the top part, and look down to read whatever you are reading in front of you.

The problem with them was simply that the glass was slightly wavy, so if you turned your head the whole room would shift on you. Almost nauseating, and definitely annoying. They also weren’t perfectly clear, so I always felt like I needed to clean them. Not good.

I have progressives like this, and the top rx is PLANO. Meaning “flat” or non-prescription, although there can still be an astigmatism correction. (Which I have.)
