Do vegetarians have better sex?

I have a few friends who are of the Gaudiya Vaishnava religion, which abstains from eating meat. About a quarter of the population of India are vegetarian. On the average, they appear to be slimmer and appear to have a lower percentage of body fat than the average american.

Their religion also teaches abstenance from sexual relations except to produce offspring, even within marriage. The average wealthy western secular vegetarian might enjoy a vigorous and active sex life, but i definitely wouldn’t marry a Vaishnava woman.

While it’s true that cholesterol is only found in animal products, most of the body’s cholesterol is produced from saturated fats, not directly dietary. And saturated fats are equal-opportunity: You’ll find plenty of them in both meats and vegetables.

Remember this is PETA we are talking about.

They wouldn’t sully their beliefs with anything as mundane as facts or evidence.

most peoples have a lower body fat percentage than the average american. Most europeans, from what I’ve gathered, eat a quite a good bit of meat and are thinner than americans on average. The Japanese eat shit tons of fish and a lot of pork and chicken, and are slimmer on average than americans. You can’t really link that sort of thing exclusively to vegetarianism (though there is a correlation, to be sure).

My two cents is… every vegan I’ve ever seen and a good deal of the vegetarians are far too skinny for me to have any fun with in bed. I’d feel like I’d break them or something (and I’m not a big guy, i’m like 5’7 and 170lbs). Japanese chicks are often the same way.

Plus, if you’re as skinny as the average vegan… that can’t be healthy. I dunno, they look like skeletons and they give me nightmares

The issue seems to revolve around the notion of “better sex.” Who defines it? Speaking for myself, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who sees things this way, good sex is barely correlated with appearance, but highly correlated with attitude. The hottest, sexiest, and best partners I’ve ever been with have been, a) mostly omnivores and, b) many different sizes, shapes, and looks. The brain being the main sex organ, sexuality exudes from the mind, not the body. Assertions relating good sex to diet are just as suspect as ones that would relate good sex to phone number, ownership of correct clocks, or door thickness.

actually this could be important given certain situations…

Basically just more stupid, illogical crap from PETA. Yawn
