This will be it for me.
You started off this issue by stating that “the military wasn’t getting paid” Not paid late, “wasn’t getting paid.” That wasn’t a clear statement and you refuse to acknowledge that. That was what I responded to.
An you’re wrong. History certainly does matter, and it is indeed a prediction of the future in many cases.
The military in this country is view as somewhat as a protected class. Not putting a value judgement on that, it’s just a statement. You can’t make a statement that the military wasn’t going to get paid (or not paid on time, whatever your current argument is) if they have always been made the exception since at least the 1970s! I’ve been doing military pay and policy for years (without proof to you I know) but there isn’t a way in hell one of the political parties wasn’t going to pay the military, or pay them late. We’ve been through this before. Many CRs, and several shutdowns. And you know what happens? They pay the military on time.
Even the President and Republicans stated that federal civilians would get paid on time, something that wasn’t the case previously. If civilians were getting paid, the military was.
Frankly, you just don’t understand how much of this works. Which is who the whole “military isn’t getting paid” meme was directed to I suppose.
Until the next thread!
