Do you enjoy wrapping presents?

I don’t. I’ve never liked and I suck at it. Usually everytime I need to buy a present I either go to the local Boscovs because the have really nice free professional giftwrapping service or just get a giftcard and stick it in a card. My mother on the other hand just loves wrapping, has several different rolls of wrapping paper onhand at any one time plus assorted bows and ribbons. Oddly I almost never see ribbon any any presents, yet she has alot of it. :dubious:

I enjoy it when it’s a simple-to-wrap gift (box). But I had a lot of trouble wrapping some awkward-shaped presents earlier today and it got frustrating.

Yeah, pretty much I do. I mostly enjoy this season.

And I’m quite good at it.

I dig it a lot to the degree that I took a gift wrapping course.

Why yes, I am totally square - why do you ask?

That’s what those bags are for.

I’m 30, and if I happen to be with my sister any time in the last few days leading up until Christmas, I still get her to do it for me. She does 'em up all really pretty-like!

Yeah, I do. I really like repetitive manual tasks, though. They give me a satisfaction that my usual computer-based work lacks. Plus, pretty tags and ribbons! Yay!

My husband hates it. One of these years he’s gonna figure out a way to have me wrap my own presents, I suspect.

I neither enjoy it nor hate it - it’s just another Christmas chore. Ho. Ho. Ho.

I do, in the late 90s, I had a part time job a Marshall Fields, three years in a row, at Christmastime, wrapping gifts. It was really fun.

I think it’s wasteful to buy wrapping paper and boxes (even though I am a fiend for flattening and recycling, and keeping wrong kind out of recycling, like gold foil. Did you know tissue paper shouldn’t be recycled, but thrown away?) Bags come in all sizes, are pretty cheap and can be used multiple times. Mr. Sali can’t seem to wrap his head around the concept and insists on wrapping paper and boxes and tape, just like he used when he lived with his mommy. … Oh, the question? Yes, I DO like wrapping presents. I do a fair job and am clever at improvising containers and boxes for odd shaped things. And you should see the miracles I work when there’s one more present to wrap and all the paper left is little scraps.

Yes, and I’m pretty good at it. I tend to be the guy who gets handed presents by tired relatives to wrap for them before Christmas.

OMG I need to take a gift wrapping course! That sounds like so much square FUN!

I love wrapping presents, but I don’t usually go fancy on the bows and ribbons, because pulling those from my cats’ butts is generally a very unpleasant task for everyone involved. But wrapping a gift in plain old gift wrap? I love it! Especially the oddly-shaped ones - I love a challenge!

Yeah, I consider myself moderately good at it.

I’ve shared this before, but the most clever wrapping job I ever saw was when my mom had to wrap a great big roll of new bedding she was giving me. She put it in a white plastic bag, tied a scarf around the middle, and drew a snowman face on the bag.

I maybe enjoy the first few, especially if they’re easy; after that it gets old.

No kidding. If there’s any way possible it goes into a bag with a ribbon around the handles. That or of course asking the store if they do gift wrapping. If I gotta wrap it it’ll soon be 'bout as attractive as the Griswold’s station wagon.

No. Everyone knows what gifts are from me because they’re the ones that are messily rolled in newspaper and fastened with gaffer’s tape.

Ha. Everyone knows which ones are from me because they are the ones with the most ribbons, bows, and shiny paper (shiny!). And the hardest to open, with all that ribbon.

I like it and I’m pretty good at it, but I won’t do everyone else’s!

My brother won lasting family fame the year he gave a gift wrapped in brown paper with an elaborate duct tape bow. Last year I gave him a big bag of cat food (he looks after a bunch of strays), and I didn’t know how to wrap it, so I carefully went over the package and marked out every instance of the word “cat” with black marker. I then put a rectangle of black electrical tape over the eyes of the cat pictured on the front and added a bow.

I like it. I am not terribly creative but I can do basic things fairly well, and most everything else I will find a box for so I can wrap it. I love thinking about people opening them up.
