Do you ever feel like everything's more lucid after a hangover?

Millions,

I had a rough Monday. One of those “I swear I’m never drinking again” Mondays, exacerbated by the fact that, well, it was Monday. Bad move.

Anyway: so all Tuesday, everything was far more lucid. I noticed trees on my walk I’d never seen, colors were brighter, sounds that were previously just white noise were more crystalized. And I felt like warm shit.

My question: Am I alone? I think this must happen to other drinkers. And, if so, why?

…addendum: The title should probably read “during a hangover.”

I’d say yes. I don’t know if I’d say lucid, but I definitely have a different outlook on life. I wonder what past friends are up to, hope my family is ok, and generally feel like I’m on a mind altering substance that’s not alcohol. I’ve discussed this with friends in the past, and they’ve said similar things.

It’s called being knurd, and is a rebound effect from excessive alcohol processing.

A solid slug of your favourite tipple is suggested to restore the bodies internal alcohol balance, reduce excessive optimism and increase cynicism levels to normal

Si

The way the question is framed it may be more of an IMHO. That being said, although I never drink too terribly much, I generally just get a headache.

Yes. It usually means I’m still drunk from the night before and will probably get a massive headache by around noon once the alchohol wears off.
