Do you find election meddling as funny as Trump does?

From here:

The President in the movie “Idiocracy” was of higher quality than this malicious buffoon.

I think election meddling could arguably be considered an act of war. Not that I want a war with Russia, but it is a serious problem that deserves a serious response.

Lighten up! It’s just a joke. He doesn’t really want Russia not to meddle in the election.

I generally believe that when I am irritated with someone it is just because what I believe is reasonable doesn’t mesh so well with what they believe is reasonable. So I just put it down to different perspectives & life experience and try not to take things too personally. In a similar vein, I’m not a huge fan of schadenfreude because I believe people should be allowed to make mistakes and to learn from them.

Trump is a rare person who tests my resolve on those accounts. He is a troll, and every day dares his own country to put him on trial. With Trump, I dare to hope he lives to see his children begin multiple consecutive life sentences in Rikers. I hope he lives to discover Pence’s cock in Melania’s mouth–and for her to laugh in his face if he objects. I hope he lives to find himself spending the rest of his days in solitary–because you can’t ask a Secret Service detail to spend their time in prison with him. And lastly, I hope he lives to the age of 115.

I too find it concerning the number of people who are not at all bothered by this. Whether or not the meddling turned out in your favor, the very fact that another country chose our leader and got away with it should have every freedom loving person up in arms.

Honestly? Yes I do because I find it funny that there is outrage when the truth is revealed by foreign hackers but ignore blatant lies by American politicians*. Shows what we really value.
*Like Reid lying about Romney’s tax returns.

In fairness, when a candidate like Donald Trump gets 46% of the vote rather than just 5%, there are far more factors at work in U.S. politics than just Russian interference.

I think I missed this. What truth was revealed?

Get that data out of here. Where do you think you are? GQ?

To be fair, this thread is about Trump’s joking with Putin about election meddling.

Kinda? I mean pizzagate is just fucking funny to me. Libel, sure, but funny libel. Manipulating the twitter or facebook algorithms via bot accounts is humorous, and frankly probably a good thing in the long run because it highlights how much these algorithms influence our daily news and info. Most of the rest of “electoral manipulation” is as old as politics itself and I’m glad we’ve moved on from actual assassination to character assassination.

Hacking voting machines? Hacking voter databases? Not cool, not funny. Cheating. But as long as what you’re doing still has to filter through a human brain before it makes it to the ballot box, then I hold the humans whose heads those brains are in responsible for their votes.

Enjoy,
Steven

You have a weird sense of humor. Read the two sections starting here.

Ask and you shall receive.

Protesting meddling in the form of propaganda and Facebook ads seems hypocritical considering what the US does in and to other nations. It’s a rough world and if one can gain strategic advantage with Jesus wielding an M16 while riding a velociraptor ads the problem is not with the entity that created the jpeg.

I think Russian agents have been meddling in our elections for decades.
