Do you have a microwave?

I have one, but I hardly ever use it for anything other than the timer. Even reheating leftovers, I usually do on the stove.

The one up at the office I use pretty much every day, but only for heating water, and an electric kettle would work just as well, if we had one up here. It’s only in the school cafeteria that I really have a need for one: I’ve been trying to bring in stews, casseroles, etc. more often rather than paying cafeteria prices.

A microwave can indeed be an excellent way to cook vegetables, but you have to experiment with it a lot to get the settings right (which I’ve yet to bother to do), since you can just as easily ruin vegetables in the microwave. And I absolutely cannot fathom why so many people use a microwave for defrosting, unless they literally know of no other way to do it: It’s the absolute worst tool for the job.

I have one but I don’t use it for anything. It’s not even plugged in.

We have one but our kitchen is so small, we had to put it on a shelf in the basement. I usually forget we even have it! My kids use it to make popcorn or frozen dinners if I’m not home. I’d rather have them use the microwave than the stove or the oven.

I don’t use my microwave very often but when I do, I need it badly. I mostly use it for reheating leftovers but I also like to warm my sandwiches a bit before I eat them.

My dad doesn’t have a microwave and doesn’t want one. So I struggle to reheat things at his place. He uses the stove or just wraps the food in tinfoil and places it on top of the toaster, not very efficient. It’s kind of silly, but then again he refuses to buy lots of other things I consider must-haves (like an air conditioner).

Mine quit working about a year ago and I got rid of it, intending to stop by Target within the next day or two to get another one. I never got around to it. I was sort of surprised how much better frozen meals are when they’re heated up in the toaster oven. Other than that, most of my cooking has always been on the stove-top anyway – stir frys and such.
