Do you have a problem with B.S. WARNING: Horrible, forbidden swear word used twice

Most call centers have a policy where they can disconect the call if a caller is abusive or uses profanity. Usually they warn you with a “sir, if you continue to blah blah blah” to give you a chnce to calm down.

Usually when they threaten to hang up, I usually just threaten to cancel whatever credit card, bank acount or service I’m using and that usually turns them back into little bitches (the first thing I also do is ask to speak to a supervisor when I call).

The thing to remember is that most call centers use barely educated drones to man the phones. Their job is to sit there and follow a set of procedures laid down by the company.

As I work in a call center, this would have been my reaction.

a> If you said it in the context you say you did. I would have let it slide. If it continued, I would probably ask that you refrain from using profanity.

b> If it was said with anger or towards me, I would warn you right away that if you continue to use that language I will discontinue the call.

In general, keep in mind that people will react to profanity in different ways. Even if you don’t mean for people to take offense, they may. You don’t know who you’re talking to, it could be some guy who says fuck every other word. Or it could be good Little Ms. Molly Mormon.

If you can at all avoid it, avoid profanity. I can avoid it when talking to you, you should be able to avoid it when talking to me.
