I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 14, and I’ve owned/riden alot of different kinds of bikes. I Currently ride a Harley Custom Sportster. But I’ve never riden a motor trike, and now that I’m seeing more and more of them on the road I have some questions for someone who’s actually ridden one:
*How stable are they? Especially in tight corners. How easy is it to tip one? How about popping a wheelie? Can they flip over or be tipped over?
*How stable are they in the rain? Are they as stable as a car? I hate the loss of control I feel when I’m riding my HOG in the rain.
*How mechanically reliable are they?
*Can a trike handle a bigger weight load that a 2 wheel cycle? When I give my son a lift (500 pounds between the 2 of us)my bike bottoms out on bumps).
*Are there any negative stigmas of guys who ride trikes, like they have training wheels or something? Guys with bigger Harleys tend to thumb their nose at my Sportster, even though it’s chromed out to the max.
*Would you say a trike is more fun, less fun, or, or the same amount of fun as a regular motorcycle? (an opinion poll question, I know, but the previous questions justify the thread for GQ)
