Do you know what Ritalin does if you don't have ADD?

Well, it makes one very hyper hypergirl. :):slight_smile:

I figured if anyone knew, it’d be you :slight_smile:

If you don’t have ADD and you take Ritilin, it basically gets you high.

Yeah. It works kinda like speed. Very fun for a few hours and then you fall asleep. But at least it kept me awake for math.

I have ADD, Ritalin does jack shit for me. Well actually I shouldnt say that, it knocks me out. So I stoped taking it.

I have probably 50-75 pills left, I thought of selling them, but I will probably end up flushing them.

what is the shelf life of Ritalin?

I’ll take them. :slight_smile:

I can’t help but ask. Did you take the extra Ritalin before or after you jello wrestled?

**Ritalin is an amphetamine, but like all amphetamines it has a paradoxical effect on most people with ADD or ADHD, acting as a depressant of sorts for them.

People without ADD who wish to use it recreationally can crush and snort it or inject it, since it’s water soluble.

Uh, not that I’d know, but, uh, that’s what I heard.

Ahem.

:smiley: ben901 :smiley:

Umm… Dear, that’s because it IS speed. :slight_smile:

Careful kids, the same risks that you associate with speed should be applied to Riddies. It can MAJORLY screw up your heart rate, and can become addictive.

That said, I have one friend who attended a boarding school where the ADD kids sold their Riddies to the non-ADD kids. So everyone was hyper. I have another friend who would buy Riddies whenever she had to clean her apartment, she claimed that it would be done in three hours, max.

After, actually. I really don’t need drugs to acheive the hyper effect if I’m in the mood.

The only things I noticed was that I laughed longer and harder at stupid things that shouldn’t be funny and my normal habit of fidgeting my hands kind of vanished. It was so weird. Normally my hands don’t stay still for long, and having them just lay ther like dead weights. Nobody noticed me being any weirder than I normally am, and the only ones who noticed a change are the ones who actually saw me take them. Then again, I should probably have Jessica post about what she thought of my actions today after and during lunch.

OOps, that was me on the above post.

So I’m taking an amphetamine? Oh shit…

if you like ritalin you should try aderol…even stronger, and the pill is bright blue!

Oh dear, maybe that’s why it’s one of the more commonly abused drugs in school age kids. Of course it might be because just about every guy with even a little extra energy gets slapped with the label of ADD but maybe that’s just because I knew a lot of them.

Kitty

I have mild ADD; hence I get no “buzz” from my Ritalin at all. I have wondered what it does for non-ADD folks. It doesn’t sound like much fun to me, actually.

Perhaps some of these things from rxlist.com hypergirl could happen to ya. Hope you got a wig:
“Nervousness and insomnia are the most common adverse reactions but are usually controlled by
reducing dosage and omitting the drug in the afternoon or evening. Other reactions indude
hypersensitivity (including skin rash, urticaria, fever, arthralgia, exfoliative dermatitis, erythema
multiforme with histopathological findings of necrotizing vasculitis, and thrombocytopenic purpura);
anorexia; nausea; dizziness; palpitations; headache; dyskinesia; drowsiness; blood pressure and
pulse changes, both up and down; tachycardia; angina; cardiac arrhythmia; abdominal pain; weight
loss during prolonged therapy. There have been rare reports of Tourette’s syndrome. Toxic psychosis
has been reported. Although a definite causal relationship has not been estabfished, the following have
been reported in patients taking this drug: instances of abnormal liver function, ranging from
transaminase elevation to hepatic coma; isolated cases of cerebral arteritis and/or occlusion;
leukopenia and/or anemia; transient depressed mood; a few instances of scalp hair loss.”

It’s basically speed, so it will make you wide awake and (eventually) paranoid.
