Nope. No tea for me. No coffee either.
Preach it! I have had a cup of Barry’s every morning for going on 6 years. Sometimes I have a second, but if I am working from home I usually switch to Jasmine scented green tea around 11am. If I am not I drink iced tea. At night I have been drinking Rooibos with milk (not technically tea, but it’s tea).
I drink a lot of tea.
Have you tried Barry’s Irish Breakfast in the green box? It’s also very good.
Yep. But I prefer the Gold.
As a matter of fact, I caught a Leprechaun last year and forced him to tell me where he had buried his pot of Barry’s Gold.
He took me to a copse filled with dozens of small identical trees and indicated which one had the treasure buried at its roots.
I pulled out my white handkerchief and tied it to the boll of the tree. Then I took him by the shoulders and shook him hard, saying “Ye little bastard! Promise me you won’t take away me handkerchief in the night!” He snivelled and sobbed and swore he would not.
The next day I returned to the copse with me pick and spade, and found that every tree there had a white handkerchief tied to it.
If you’re ever traveling in the Hudson Valley, take a trip out to Millerton. That’s the headquarters for Harney & Sons. Their distribution center is outside of town but they have a tea room in the middle of town. You can sample their teas. And they have some really good tea.
Many years ago I started at thread about tea here: Teeny Tiny Tea Rant (with lemon) which pretty much is all I feel a need to say here. Other than don’t put fruit, including lemon, in my tea, thank-you-very-much.
Black tea with lots of lemon juice. Wait until cold, enjoy!
I think you might mean ‘builders’ which is how we refer to strong (possibly stewed) black tea in the UK, always served with milk and optional sugar (‘builder’s tea’). A ‘ploughman’s’ is a quintessential pub lunch consisting of crusty bread, cheese, a pickled onion and an apple. Quite nice with a cuppa but better with a pint of best.
OB
Yup, tea at home and coffee when I’m out.
I love tea but I’m picky.
Very strong black tea w/ milk (not cream) and a little sugar (not “sweetener”!) please. My current favorite is PG Tips, and I leave the bag in the cup.
Tea is my addiction. I have a lovely big 12 oz mug that is just about the only one I ever use, and I pretty sip it all day. I don’t even care if it goes cold, I’ll still finish it off and go make another. It’s sort of the chain smoking model of tea drinking.
So yes, I like tea ![]()
Tea drinker, daily.
Hot or iced.
Sugar, no lemon or milk, please.
I drink hot tea (with just a little sweetener, no milk or lemon) but I can’t stand iced tea. I can’t stand coffee, either, so hot tea or hot chocolate are my cold-weather beverage choices.
The little pointy-eared rat bastard.
Is that the same woods where the Keebler elves have their trees?
The Keebler elves are the WASP Republicans of the Little Folk.
They’ve had their forest (and golf club) restricted, to keep out the Shanty Irish…and Jews, of course.
Oy vey iz mir, I guess I’m out.
Iced tea is basically dishwater, whether sweetened or not.
Black tea, hot, with milk and sugar. (Twining’s Irish Breakfast is my favourite.)
Iced tea of any variety, like iced coffee, is an abomination.
I do not like tea. Doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold.
I like herbal tea. Pretty sure caffeine isn’t all that great for you.
No, I have only had ice tea, do not like it.
