Do you live in the same city, county, state, country you work in?

Do you have to cross city, county, state lines to get to work? Cross a border?

Also, what is the closest major city near you. (by major, I mean has a sports franchise, Intl Airport, we have all heard of it…)

I work in Roseville, Ca (Placer County). I live in Citrus Heights Ca (Sacramento County). Naturally, the nearest major city is Sacramento.

The city I live in is 20 miles from the city I work in. Plus I have to drive through another city to get there. Those two cities are in a different county from the one I live in. The nearest large city according to your criteria would be Minneapolis/St. Paul which is also in a whole 'nother state.

I live juuuust accross the border in Park County, but work in Summit County Colorado. I really consider Summit county to be where I live.

Closest major city would be Denver ~100 miles.

I work in both a different city and a different county from where I live, even though my home and workplace are only 15 minutes apart. Nearest major city is Denver, where I work.

I live a mile from work. The only borders I cross are a couple of zip codes.

I live in Brooklyn but I work in NNJ. I normally stay with my boyfriend in NJ during the week because I don’t like to commute. We head to my place on the weekends.

I live and work in Minneapolis. I do cross a zip code border though.

I live and work in different states.

I cross 4 county borders and 1 state border on my drive to and from work. I also pass through 9 cities/towns including the ones I live in and work in.

I don’t like living around my customers. I certainly don’t want my kids going to school with my customers and my customer’s children. I live about 25 miles away.

I live in Omaha, Nebraska, and work for a local company. I am permanently assigned to our major client. The job location is across the river in Council Bluffs, Iowa. My drive to work is about twenty five miles

Technically speaking yes. I work from home 90% of the time in San Joaquin county. But our business office is in Contra Costa county.

I work and live in the city of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois

I work about 5 miles from home. Same state, different city, same county. The nearest big city is Portland (Go Blazers).

Job is 3.4 miles from work, same city.

I’m a dog walker and all but a few of my jobs are in my city. The ones that aren’t are in West Sacramento. I live on the border, so it’s not far.

I live and work in the City and County of San Francisco.

Tough call. Where I work has its own police but uses the city for fire and other services - slightly but not totally independent. So I’ll say I do. And in case you are curious, I would move rather than commute daily by car - or get a different job. I did about 5 months at a job that required driving to and from (about 30 minutes each way) and almost went nuts from it. Just isn’t my bag at all.

Live in DC, work in Arlington. As a Californian, I’m constantly amazed that I can easily end up in three states (well, two states and a district) in the course of an ordinary day.

I work in a different city/county from where I live, but it’s only a 20 minute drive, so it’s not as bad as it sounds.
