Do you own a toaster?

I just bought one today after years of not having one - a slot toaster, that is. My oven has a grill, but it’s broken, and the microwave technically does grill but doesn’t properly toast bread at all. We also have a Brevile-style sandwich toaster, but it takes ages.

We have a toaster oven with a slot in the top for regular toasting. Similar to this.

I have a regular toaster but hardly ever use it. I usually use the toaster oven, especially if I’m toasting bagels or homemade bread. When I make turkey, I use the regular oven to make a loaf’s worth of toast at a time for the stuffing.

I have a toaster, but before I got it I used my oven to make toast. It’s kind of overkill, though, so I don’t do that any more unless I’m putting something on the bread first (cheesy garlic bread, or the like).

I find it odd to have an oven but not a toaster. I even make garlic bread and grilled cheese with my toaster. (The latter if I don’t want the extra fat.)

I never use my toaster oven. I use a traditional toaster maybe once a quarter.

Toaster oven. But I couldn’t give up my microwave. Mmm, microwave popcorn.

You mean a regular toaster? How do you keep it from getting gunky? Turn it on its side?

toaster only

how do you know it died?

Why did I never think of that???!!! That could totally work!

Toaster bags (which I’ve found for less than a dollar a piece locally and they last forever), or, when I’m in a pinch, just toast the toast, put cheese on it, add a few squirts on each side of fake butter spray (less than 30 calories worth) and stick it in the microwave for just long enough to melt the cheese.

Also, my toaster has a clean out tray–though I only use it when pieces of bread fall off.

Oh, and I make garlic bread either in the bag or toast it and then just add room temperature butter and garlic. The latter isn’t as good, but it’s better than plain toast.

I prefer a toaster oven, but I am living with people who have a slotted toaster.

I have a toaster that sees daily use. Bread, Pop-Tarts, what-have-you. It has four slots, but two of them have died. They won’t pop up, so anything in them just burns. I really need to get a new toaster.

Our stove unit had two ovens. A normal big one and a small one. The small one has a toast setting and makes the best toast ever.

The toaster oven is an indispensable piece of equipment that would toss my entire world upside down if it were to ever disappear, as it makes re-heating pizza and toasting bread for sandwiches the best thing in the world.

We have a toaster oven, but it’s used mostly by Mr. Tao during the summer for small things, when it’s too hot to turn on the oven. I use it on occasion…um…maybe once. Toaster for bagels and toast, oven for pretty much everything else.

I had a toaster with a slide out tray for years. Like a toaster oven except tiny. It made great toasted cheese sandwiches. Buttered toast came out better too. I put a gob of butter on the bread. Let it warm under the element a few seconds and then spread it out. After it finished toasting it was delicious.

I have a regular 2 slot toaster now. Have to waste a lot of electricity to make cheese toast under the broiler in the oven.

Toasted bagels? Heresy!

I’ve been on my own for about 5 years now and just now bought my first one.

I got it because I only recently needed to be awake early enough for me to want to toast waffles on it. However I don’t see it getting much use.

It’s funny however that I bought it and just NOW see this thread

LOL When I read that, I thought you were talking about actually re-heating leftover pizza. You know, making it hot! :stuck_out_tongue:
