Do you participate when called on the phone by political surveys?

I might if most unsolicited phone calls weren’t so consistently unwanted. We have no spam filter, so any number I don’t recognize doesn’t get picked up. If it’s important, I assume you’ll leave a message. I’ve never known a polling place to do so.

I tried to respond once or twice but one time, a question was so obviously phrased in such a way as to get people who were leaning one direction to answer as if they leaned the other. Another time it was such a huge pain in the ass just to decipher what they were asking - you had to rate things 1-5 on some questions, then 5-1, then yes, then no, then 1-5 and so on. No way could that have gotten a coherent answer from anyone.

I’ve just about quit answering calls from unknown numbers - and even local numbers with no name. They’re either political calls, spoofed scam calls, or rarely a legitimate caller (our DME provider for our CPAP supplies shows up as an 800 number with unknown name - morons!!).

So what you’re saying is you don’t vote at all, ever?

Around here that’s what this would amount to. They ALL do this.

OK, I’ve never gotten a robocall for a spending referendum.

Never. I swear, as soon as you participate in even just one they put you on a list of “cal this guy a whole lot since he was willing just once”.
I’d rather make the “don’t bother calling, he never participates” list.

I was called by Quinnijpiac once, and cooperated with them, but they never called again after that. Otherwise, all of those things depend on my mood at the moment, and whether the caller sounds like the kind of person I don’t mind chatting with.

I’m on the Neilsen TV ratings list, and I get a diary a couple of times a year, which I cooperate with because they put a couple of dollars in the envelope, sometimes even a fiver.

Never. I don’t want to encourage the practice , so I don’t participate.

I said that I never participate. It’s not because I don’t want them to know my opinions. It’s simply because I don’t have time for such nonsense. They always call right when I’m in the middle of doing something.
