Do you put salt on your pizza?

But I thought we determined that salt does not raise blood pressure?

Here’s the link from DougK in post #24.
However, I also know of at least two people who have been instructed to eat a low-sodium diet because of high BP. So either many doctors disagree with the premise in the linked article, or they are unaware.

It seems to be a complicated issue. I’ve craved salt since I was a kid. I developed high blood pressure a few years ago and was put on a diuretic - it flushes sodium out. My blood pressure went from around 170/100 to, as of a few seconds ago, 124/75. I know too that the more salt I eat the more trips I make to the bathroom so it’s become a bit easier to avoid. Processed foods are crammed full of the stuff so I cook more which is nice really. I don’t use any salt substitutes, just less salt in general. Interestingly, as I’ve cut back on salt usage I think I can taste it more than I used to meaning it doesn’t take as much as I used to use to enhance a dish.
