Do You Really Care About A Celebrity Endorsement?

I wouldn’t care. There’s no celebrity nowadays who I even care about. The celebs I’m really into are either dead or in jail or nowhere well known enough to be endorsing soft drinks.

ETA: And in some cases, so insane that if they did endorse something I’d probably run screaming in the opposite direction…

I initially read the OP subject line as “celebrity endowments”, thought of Liam Neeson, and then decided my answer was yes.

Is it Canon cameras? For some reason I was thinking it was for Sony products. Actually I’m not really sure what it was for at all. I know the commercials and I think they are funny but I have really no idea what they were selling.
There’s a ton of them like that. The commercials are memorable and the catch lines but I never remember what brand it’s for.
“Like A Rock” trucks. Chevy? Ford? GMC? Dodge? I honestly have no idea.
A big bunch of NASCAR guys promote a razor that gives a really close shave. But I have no idea which one. Schick? Gillette?
Beer commercials are a dime a dozen. Plenty of funny ones out there. But I’d be hard pressed to match up the brand with the ad.

For a while, a local copier company was putting up billboards with endorsements from members and/or coaches of the UT football team. At least, that’s who I assumed they were, as I had no idea who they were. Thick necked jocks looking extremely uncomfortable in ill-fitting suits and equally ill-fitting smiles, telling me how great Copier Company X was.

Yeah. I’ll buy that.

As for celebrity endorsements on the whole, don’t care about them. Don’t care about the commercials. I’ll go with personal experience, word of mouth and Consumer Reports.
