Do you remember potty/peepee training (your own)?

yes. i was 2-3ish. my training toilet was shaped like donald duck. why are kids things so WEIRD?

i also remember thinking “really? this is cleaner? me pooping into this plastic box shaped like donald duck is cleaner than you throwing away diapers?”

then i remember thinking a few months later “oh. you want me to poop in the adult crapper now? why didn’t you just train me on this to begin with? this is much cleaner. it just magically disappears!”

I remember that one of my parents had taped a toy to the wall of the bathroom as a reward for using the toilet some number of times, or something similar. I don’t remember much, if anything, else. I don’t remember anything specifically about transitioning out of diapers (such as being introduced to regular underwear), or even wearing diapers. (I don’t think training pants even existed back then.) Odd, possibly, considering that I remember the training. Oh well, such is childhood memory.

I remember the little potty.

I don’t recall being trained.

Children do not remember much before the age of 3. I was trained at 1year old so no I don’t remember. Not many kids are going to remember since most kids are trained by around 3 years old.

I remember accidentally crapping in the bath* when I was about 3 (for some reason, I tried to argue that the little flattened fecal nugget was actually a leaf)

*(Actually not the bath, but one side of a stainless steel kitchen sink)

I remember using the potty at the beach and my mother running down to empty and rinse it out in the sea (!)

I’m surprised nobody has yet told us that all of these pre 5YO memories are categorically impossible - it’s what usually happens.

Pretty clear memory of the denouement at least. I was 2 1/2, and my parents were trying to make me a deal. I thus promised them I would immediately start using the toilet if they would let me ride in a helicopter. My mom thought I meant one of those dime ride helicopters that used to be outside of grocery stores, so when we next went to the supermarket and she offered to pay for me to ride one, I said, “No mommy I meant a REAL helicopter!” Fast forward a few months and we were vacationing in Niagara Falls, where they had a helicopter charter to allow you to view the falls from above. I pretty clearly remember riding in it, tho the rest is pretty much nonexistent.

I remember a lot of things before the age of five. Potty trainning isn’t one of them. My mom swears when she first showed me the potty, I took the lid off and wore it as a hat. I don’t believe that for some reason.

I remember all too well. I was really reluctant to be fully toilet trained and my mother and grandmother tried to bribe me by giving me gifts when I successfully used the toilet instead of my diaper. But they were weak, and I looked so pathetic after an hour of trying to use the toilet that they often gave me the gift anyway. (TMI ahead) I imagine a lot of this has to do with the fact that I had chronic constipation up until about 7 years ago when my lactose intolerance was finally diagnosed.

My mom did in fact rub my nose in it when I pooped my pants once in the almost-perfectly-trained stage. I don’t recall whether I ever had another accident. I do (obviously) still recall the incident, and not with fondness.

I believe it. My son has had the little potty on his head more than once. When it was clean, thankfully.

Yes, I have a great many memories involving that time. Including various accidents I had, and going into mourning when my mom made me stop using my own little toilet (with blue flowers on it) which I loved, about age 3.

I have a ton of memories from before age 5. Many of them have been verified by adults at a much later stage (like the visit to my father’s great-grandmother - who I mistakenly thought was my mother’s great-grandmother, my namesake, until I finally mentioned it to my mom about it last year - when I was 2 1/2). Makes up for how few I have of 12-18 or so, when I was depressed.
