Do You Remember the Kennedy-Kerry Coincidences?

Just for the sake of reminiscing. I am not saying that they mean anything. (Actually quite the contrary. At the time they were kind of a let down–more on that later.)

First, just to cleanse the palate, the Adams-Bush and Mount Rushmore Coincidences. No need to comment on those (unless you want to  ).

Anyway, I could have sworn I alone came up with the Kennedy-Kerry Coincidences. But here is another post someone made-about the exact same thing! (I do still have the old file in my PC [I hold onto everything  ]. But I am on my smartphone now  .)

In any event, Kerry, you see, was running against Bush 2. And I predicted, like Adams 2, Bush would only serve one term. And John Kerry (who looks a lot like Andrew Jackson–the man who defeated Adams 2, think about it) would be our next president.

Never happened.

But you know, it opened the door for Barack Obama to become our first African American president, and to serve two terms. So who is to say what outcome was better?

And yes, I just have to ask this: thoughts?

Thank you in advance for your kindly and civil replies

Coincidences written down after the fact are for the most part trivial. Any two people have a large number of meaningless coincidences that can be generated. The Lincoln-Kennedy coincidences is probably the granddaddy of the genre.

The Lincoln-Kennedy coincidences are not only in the OP’s link but completely taken apart there. The poster there doesn’t mention that the original list was a parody by Martin Gardner, though, and Wiki does.

But wasn’t it just as likely Obama would be invited to give that keynote speech no matter who won the nomination in 2004?

ETA - Or are you just saying he would have had to wait if Kerry was the incumbent in ‘08?
