Do you scroll in your dreams?

I was reading the thread about blind dreaming and wondered about this:

Back in the day I used to dream I was reading books and used to turn the page. Now when I dream about reading I scroll. Has anyone else experienced this? Or am I just totally weird?

I don’t remember ever reading in a dream… sorry.

I mean, it’s a “everything is possible” world in your mind!, i think there are more interesting things to do in a dream than sit down and read

When I’m reading in a dream, it’s a mix between reading a book (the old-fashioned kind) and living the story. Never had one with scrolling text.

And this might be better suited for IMHO.

Since this is asking about personal experiences, it’s better suited to IMHO than GQ.

When I try to read in a dream, I can’t get my eyes to open in the direction.of the pages. It’s not that I can’t see the rest of the world (of the dream), just that when I try to read I become acutely aware that I am struggling ineffectively to lift my eyelids.

I think this is because my brain is trying to perform the action for real.

Everything I try to read is blank, so I have to try to figure it out in other ways. Heck, sometimes I just make crap up. No matter what I do, I’m always right.

Even if I did, nothing I “read” is long enough to need to turn the page or scroll.

I don’t remember ever reading a book in a dream, so no. Momentarily wanting to scroll while actually reading a dead-tree book, is another story.

On a related note (hope it’s OK to hijack here - probably not worth a thread of its own) - anyone ever feel a compulsion to click on a blue-underlined link in a printed email?

No, but I do sometimes try to hit Control-Z when something bad happens.
