Why don’t you get a splitter? They don’t cost much and one USB port gets transformed to four.
High capacity thumb drives are becoming cheaper by the month. I suggest shopping by mail, you should be able to get them perhaps 40% cheaper than over the counter.
As far as durability is concerned, unlike several burned CDs gone bad I haven’t had a thumb drive fail on me yet (excluding laundry events).
I haven’t burned a cd in years. I’ve got a mp3 player for listening to music in my car and transporting data. I’ve got a external hard drive for backups.
I bought a 50 pack of DVDs at least two years ago…I’m not even halfway through them yet. I used to go through at least half a dozen discs a day in the early 00s but now I just transfer music to my iPod or use my 2 GB USB drive for moving data files or, for larger files, I just move my external hard drive and move it from one computer to another to transfer information.
All my movies are ripped onto my my hard drive which is attached to my computer which is attached to my TV in my living room. And I use my wireless mouse as a remote control which works perfectly on carpet. I haven’t even burned a movie for years.
Most of the time any more I burn cds for other people who request them other than that I use my usb stick to put music on it and use it for school work. my girlfriend has two one gig usb mp3 players of which I have one here with me putting songs on it that remind her of me and vice versa. other than that I don’t really burn cds much any more.
