Do you strangle your tea bag?

Ew, cream in tea is disgusting. You Americans wreck everything.

I’ll do that if there is no place to put the teabag without making a mess. If I can chuck it in the waste can right away, or put it on a saucer, I generally won’t bother.

More so than I would have thought before reading this thread…

Cream in tea is not good, milk in tea is very good .

My go-to daily cuppa is Punjana’s Irish Breakfast. No squeezing, no string, steeps quite strong enough to stand the spoon upright in the mug all on its own.

I used to do milk and sugar/splenda but lately I’ve been drinking Twinnings Earl Grey and have developed a real taste for it - which I just drink with Splenda. I actually prefer that since it tastes the same to me and it feels ‘cleaner’ than sugar anyway. Sugar feels different. Not sure how to describe it.

I used to give mine a good throttle until someone told me that you’re not supposed to do that. Something about the squeezin’s being super bitter. I have no idea if it’s true or not, but as I’m an american who primarily drinks coffee I’ll take it on faith.

Being an American I spelled Twinings wrong. Pls don’t ask me to pronounce it. :o :smack:

In the UK most domestic teabags come loose in a a box and do not have strings. I squeeze mine gently with the spoon against the side of the mug and then scoop the bag out and dump it in the waste bin.

Strings are mostly for upmarket (eg Earl Grey) or fruit teas that come neatly stacked in little boxes and possibly individually wrapped, or for tea purchased at a restaurant or cafe.
