The Ellison story that Cameron (alledgedly) lifted from was entitled “Soldier From The Future,” but mostly Ellison said that Cameron lifted from the televised version of this story, entitled “Soldier” which aired on the original The Outer Limits.

Remember some years back, when Art Buchwald sued Paramount, claiming they’d stolen the story for “Coming to America” from him? My reaction was, “So THAT explains it! The plot was so stupid, the jokes were so lame, I should’ve KNOWN Art Buchwald wrote it.”
Given how stupid, how lame, how asinine, how ANNOYING the ending to “Planet of the Apes” was, I SHOULD’VE KNOWN that Kevin Smith wrote it.
