do you watch Fox News ?

it’s not much of a news channel, but it sure is entertaining

Well. I suppose the rest of my post got cut off!

Short answer: No.

Long answer: No, but I like to use newshounds to keep a wary eye on them. Just to see where they’re going to go with things (especially since I have family members who are going to swear up and down that whatever they hear on Fox is the straight-up, honest-to-god, cotton-pickin’, 100% truth. Cause it’s not part of the liberal media, only Bill O’Reilly has the guts to stand up for what he believes in, etc., etc., blah blah blah).

The Doctor

Yes, I take a look occassionally, with the same fascination with which I read the Daily Mail.

the O’Reilly factor is the best program

No.
No.
No.
No!

Well, it’s difficult for me, but I like to think that I am not watching Fox News in spirit.

Oh, so you DO know where that shift key is, after all. Cool.

yes i finally found it

I read their website now and then. I also read the BBC, Times, Guardian, CNN, MSNBC, Daily Mail etc. For some reason, saying you read the Daily Mail really riles those who are left-of-centre in the U.K., but to me that just marks them as bigots. It seems to me that the same goes for watching Fox in the U.S.

IMHO Fox gives one point of view, just as the others do, and the truth, as always, is somewhere in the middle.

I used to, as a form of entertainment.

One night was particularly awesome: News, followed by some sensationalist news show (I think the one hosted by Geraldo…)

Anyway - in the lineup:

-Pot is being smoked by kids in our suburbs - shock! Awe! The Pot is Bad! If your kids are involved in The Pot, they will (I kid you not):
a) drop out of school
b) become dangerous to themselves and others
c) develop schizophrenia (Don’t smoke the pot, you’ll get the schizo!)

Yes, that’s right! You smoke it, you’ve just increased your chances of developping schizophrenia by, like, 99%!!!oneoneelenventy.

It was AWESOME. The next bit was about, quote: The Scurge of Polygamy. They are involved with The Pot too, you know, and they will abuse your daughters. Keep them safe! Oh my, oh yes!

Can’t make this stuff up, I swear.

um… Scourge, even.

I apparently can’t type. Must be The Schizo. Not that I have ever touched The Pot. This may mean that, because I’m an Alien (though I’m quite legal, thanks), I’m more likely to develop schizophrenia, and will end up abusing the US medical system.

Damn - I should call Fox 9 news right away!

HEY! What is this? A rational response?? Get out… go on get! If you can’t admit that Fox is evil you’re obviously a Bush Lapdog! BAD Quartz, bad!

No, I don’t watch Fox, (or CNN, MSNBC, etc.) I’ll watch a local 10:00 news for the weather, and I prefer whatever station Kathy Sabine is on, but won’t fight with the wife about it.

TV news sucks and isn’t “fair or balanced”. If I was a liberal I’d watch anything but Fox, and if I was conservative I’d watch Fox. But I’m not, so I don’t.

I watch Fox News Sunday on, well, Sundays and Special Report with Brit Hume and the Fox Report with Shepherd Smith when I get a chance. I like Hume’s daily panel discussion and the Fox Report is straight news. Can’t stand anything that comes on afterwards. If I’m still watching (or in my case listening) to the news, I switch to MSNBC for Hardball with Chris Matthews, Countdown with Keith Olberman, and sometimes Scarborough Country.

When Fox News does news I find them to be the same as CNN or MSNBC (talk about damning with faint praise.) When they’re doing commentary shows I generally hate them.

I do not watch it. I removed it from my channel lineup so that if I’m flipping along I won’t accidentally see it. If it’s on somewhere out in public I leave the room, if possible.

No, don’t watch it. I"ll stick with CNN.

No. My news comes from:
The local radio station.
NPR
'net news. CNN, MSN, ABC

Roughly, but not always in that order.

I just bought a book called 50 Simple Things You Can Do To Fight the Right, and one of the tips was to boycott Fox News.

I read, listen to and watch a variety of sources: CNN, MSNBC, FOX, NPR, NYT, The Economist, Slate, … You need a balanced diet of media.

And I’ll follow Rudi Bakhtiar, wherever she may find herself. I must say that FOX and Murdoch have a strong preference for pharmaceutical sales consultant-grade pretty female newsreaders.

Not often. For the most part, I don’t consume much in the way of news from television (compared to the Internet and newspapers), and what news I receive from television comes from Headline News or my local NBC affliate.
