if the regen is this weekend, it’s hard to see how it could have remained secret, unless the new Doctor is someone who would be on set anyway.
That would be a remarkable shock, so I guess Xmas it is
So the report that the new Doctor will be Kris Marshallis still unconfirmed?
Personally I think they should completely mindfuck the viewers, kill off Bill and make Pearl Mackie the new Doctor.

Oh yeah! Unpredictable!

Not really, but can you imagine?
Me neither. And the scenes with Bill and him were some of the best of the episode.
I was thinking the same thing. (Well, not the Vector bit).
Or Nardole. ![]()

Okay, I shouldn’t do this, and will probably lose my job for revealing this inside information, but The Doctor is going to regenerate nest week, and will be played by
Keanu Reeves. Also, the appearance of the TARDIS will once again be tweaked, and will now look like an old-fashioned glass phone booth.
Whoa.
Me neither.
Agreed. Bill getting all excited at the TV because the Doctor had a raised eyebrow and that means he blah blah blah and then the Master going, “He’s been doing that for a week.” Was enjoyable.
The Sun newspaper, for what it is worth, as at five days ago is setting odds on the next Doctor. NSFW, given it is The Sun. Who is the new Doctor Who 2018, when was Jodie Whittaker announced and who else was in the running?
Kris Marshall is what I have been hearing for awhile, but I have also heard a rumor about that Phoebe lady.
Just seen the last episode. I reckon it might be a bit divisive, but I for one absolutely bloody loved it! Moffat’s 2 part finales often start strong and end weak. This time, it started strong, and ended with what may well be the best episode of the show in ten years. Fuck…my head’s still spinning.
Absolute gold from start to finish IMO.
It always amuses me when I see Tilda Swinton come up in these things. Yeah. Of course the next Doctor is going to be a fucking Hollywood A-Lister. Turns out she’s sick of starring in summer blockbusters, working with the Coen brothers and bringing home multi-million dollar pay checks every year, so she’s jacking it all in and relocating to Cardiff to do twice the work for a tenth of the salary and spend any spare time she might have left at comic book conventions. Because what movie star at the pinnacle of her industry wouldn’t jump at the chance to do that? ![]()
Heh. It’s like how Chiwetel Ejiofor has been my favorite potential new Doctor since Tennant announced his departure, and how Ten Years a Slave and* Doctor Strange* ruined all that.
Yeah, strong episode but
I don’t believe for a moment that they will leave Master Missy dead.
The Master is never actually dead.
I did like the vagueness about whether or not there was a regeneration between Simm and Gomez. Leaves things open.

Nothing like introducing a cast and then slaughtering them just as fans start to care about the characters.
I guess the new show runner has a completely clean slate.
The explosion scenes were terribly done. Very obvious effects in the ground that went off. I can’t think of the name. They launch stuntmen through the air.
Intact bodies harmlessly flying through the air like rag doll. I didn’t see a single dismembered Cyber Man.
Air Ram. Plate hidden with dirt. Stunt guy stands on it and gets thrown in the air. Lands on a crash mat.
Runs on compress air. Very easy stunt to see in tv or low budget movies.
Who probably had three or four guys and then replicated the scene to look like an army.

Well, all this season, and especially this episode, Moffat has been hearkening back to classic Who - the jelly babies, all the places the Doctor has beaten the Cybermen - maybe those were his homage to the iconically crappy effects? (Joking, of course. But only halfway…)
Jeeze. Just when I was thoroughly sick of Moffat, he pulls off a fantastic episode like this.
The story was great. I’m just deeply disappointed at the slaughter of the cast.
Thats what made classic Who great. No matter what the odds the Doctor saved the day. The cast lived on.
It’ll be interesting to see the all new cast next year.
They’re rerunning the entire two hours now.
Normally, BBC America does a same-day repeat of the DW. The episode they air at 8:00, they repeat at midnight. I’m watching at midnight now, but it’s last week’s episode. What’s that about?
I was hoping they’d run the full two hour finale. But the guide shows Dirk Gently coming up.
I hope that’s wrong. They always run a new episode twice during the night.
