Well Bill did say the Doctor was her grandfather (although undoubtedly she was just making it up, it could be true!)
So two of the first three episodes of this season involve buildings made out of bugs, so to speak, killing people. Will they complete the trifecta? STAY TUNED!!!
And the Fur Elise after Eliza died…
While the previous episode reflected “The Beast Below,” this one echoes “The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances” - it’s got misrepresented family relationships, a child’s love of his mother motivating the villain, and a resolution in which (almost) “everybody lives!” I liked it.
Also, some kind of ‘bugs’ (the nanites/wood lice) healing somebody, but getting it wrong.
I liked the episode too. It was fun when the Doctor said, “Infestation of the Dryads”, which is what it would have been called had it been a Classic Doctor Who episode. Sort of a call back.
I was kind of hoping that the other sets of absorbed people were going to be resurrected as well - but I guess their energy had been used up.
Yeah, me too.
What happened to all the space bugs in the end? And shouldn’t all the trees have fallen down as well?
[Also - the reaction from my musician friends is “Who the hell carries an F tuning fork?”]
So, you were eaten by bugs, then re-created by them.
Are you still you, or just a recreation of you?
If you’re a crew member of the Enterprise and you use the transporter to beam down to a planet’s surface – essentially being disintegrated on a molecular level and reassembled; were you just killed and revived? Is it the same you, or have random molecules been reassembled into the same structural pattern, essentially making a duplicate of you?
(Best not to think about it.)
She could also be his greatgranddaughter which would make more sense about what we already know about her mother.
“Sleep is for tortoises” was a Tom Baker line from The Talons of Weng-Chiang, as well.
Is it wrong that I don’t find Bill…to my taste? I mean, this is nothing new for me (see Rose and Donna).
I haven’t really hooked onto to Bill yet. Maybe with time.
What do we know of her mother? All I can recall is that sge died when Bill was very young.
Me either. I find her a bit gormless and annoying.
Xfinity stopped recording while Doc was encouraging his guest to join him for dinner. Was there a big reveal?
Nope, just a tease. He opened the vault and walked in, but we didn’t get a look at the inside.
No. He just opens the vault and starts to head in. Credits.
I was thinking it must be a nastie beastie in the vault he is keeping locked up but now I agree that it’s probably The Master or at least some other known character he already knows.
Nin Jarred by Meltdown.
It’s Pete. He keeps Pete in the vault.
