Does aluminum shavings or dust stick to the eye?

My understanding is that steel shavings tend to stick to the eye and wont wash out with water or eyewash. The only way to remove them is to have the hospital dig it out with a special tool. What about aluminum shavings? Do they stick to the eye? What about aluminum “dust” from sanding or grinding aluminum?

Yes always wear eye protection. Though an eyewash may help. Do not rub, sharp edges can cut. Seek Medical aid as soon as possible.

I didnt get any in my eye. I just want to know for future reference.

so does anyone have a real answer to my question?

aluminum is light weight and flies far and sticks.

it is good to not only have eye goggles (full coverage) but also a face shield. clean yourself off before removing eye protection; the dust will stick to any exposed skin and later transferred into your eyes (by sweat or fingers).

Seriously, dude we just had a long discussion, started by you on this very topic.

ETA, here’s a link in case you forgot.

Ya dude, it was about steel shavings. Now I’m wondering about aluminum because its a much softer metal.
