Paul McCartney uses Whoo! in Beatles songs like I Saw Her Standing There.
I assume he copied it from Little Richard. He uses a falsetto Whoo! a lot in songs and interviews.
Does any musical artist take credit for using Whoo! in songs?
Can you think of other songs that use it?
Found this article about Paul McCartney and Little Richard. Paul could imitate Richard’s voice. Beatles did a lot of his songs.
Warning: This song will stick in your head for at least a week.

I guess maybe Little Richard started the woo/ooo thing in songs?
I thought maybe some famous blues guy did it first. I don’t listen to that genre enough to know.
David Bowie threw a few woooos into his songs over the years. He was a huge Little Richard fan.
Not the same kind of Whoo! exactly, but Howlin Wolf did a lot of howling.

Another contender would be James Brown, but I think Little Richard preceded him.
There’s also the famous “Woo! Yeah!” Sample used in any number of dance tracks. Which actually stated life as “Yeah! Woo!”, trivia fans.
