Usually “Cute” isn’t a word that describes music I like. But I heard Fabienne Delsol sing this one in a Toyota commercial. Not only is it cute, but I daresay that it is cute, cute, cute!

I discovered “Come Out and Play” by Billie Eilish from a wonderful Apple commercial that played during the 2018 holiday season.
I bought “One Day I’ll Fly Away”, the cover version by Vaults, after it appeared in my new favorite commercial, a 2016 advertisement by UK department store John Lewis, complete with foxes bouncing on a trampoline.
There’s been a couple songs I’ve heard on promo ads on PBS that have found their way into my collection. One that comes to mind right off is “Where Not To Look For Freedom” by The Belle Brigade.
Budweiser used Paddling Out by Miike Snow on their ads during baseball season a few years back. I had to Shazam it to get the title, and boom - still on my playlist.
There’s been other music on commercials that’s been intriguing, but I haven’t always had success tracking them down.

I’m not sure if I discovered José González (covering the Knife) via commercial or not, but it’s a cool commercial about wrecking San Francisco.
I haven’t heard of any of their other songs, but I too think Da Da Da first in commercial songs.
Provided you remember the company the ad was for, just searching Youtube for “[company] ad” will usually get you the ad with the song credited in the description.

I think it started with this Apple ad for the new iPod Touch, which led me to download “Music Is My Hot Hot Sex”.
Just search YouTube for “Apple commercial”. You’ll find a lot of good music.
Sitting at home one night a few years ago and this Ashley Madison commercial came on (link SFW). I absolutely just adore the Tom Rosenthal song which is featured.
Oddly enough… or maybe not that oddly, the kid just devours music… my then 15yo daughter knew who he was.
