Does anyone else notice gaps in the Real Time with Bill Maher podcasts?

I’m sure that there are other people in here who listen to the podcast version of Real Time with Bill Maher. If you’re a listener, have you noticed very obvious gaps in the program? Sometimes mid-sentence, it will skip to a different part of the conversation. It can get confusing. I like the show, but this is driving me nuts.
So I just want to see if anyone out there has an explanation for this. I mean, this is HBO right? What gives?

I’ve always assumed it was HBO doing a lousy job of audio recording. There have been episodes with no problems and episodes that had so many problems it quit after about 15 min.

This has been my experience, as well.

Hmmm. That crossed my mind, but this from the people who brought us Rome, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, etc? The same company that creates the lavish sumptuous programs cannot manage a podcast? I know it’s not the exact same people, naturally, but still. I just don’t see why this is not up to snuff.

Anyone have any ideas of WHY this happens?
