John Byner and Super Dave Osborn?
Early eighties show that was on showtime I think. The funny thing I remember about it was that when I was about 7 or 8 my local TV station kept mixing up the naughty ones with the sanitized versions. Flipping on 7 at about midnight, I was greeted to the raunchier show (lots of nudity and hilarious blue talk). I just remember how Byner used to go off on his own and it got damn funny.
2 of the skits I remember vividly for causing me to laugh till I hurt
-John plays a guy who was flashed by a woman and is at the police station to id the flasher. They got a row of beautiful women in raincoats and they open each one to get him to id the tits. (Strictly done for the T/A value) However, the 3rd girl had this gorgeous rack and Byner noticed it. He proceeds on, stops, and says ‘yknow it might have been number 3…can I see her again?’ The guy playing the cop obviously cracks up and helps him back to behold her again. Byner did it twice more and the girl was having a blast. The whole degenerated after it because John kept figuring out ways to want to see her tits.
-The other still keeps me in stitches and I would give anything to see it again. It was a skit involving him and the guy that played Super Dave (Bob Einstein). For some reason, Bob plays really straight laced, never smiling or doing anything to out there (very republican) and Byner always likes to play the gay guy on him to see if he will crack up (he never did).
However, Bob and John are sitting on the couch and while Bob is doing this spiel about something, John is starting to rub the back of his neck and then strokes his cheek. Bob stops, looks at Byrne which causes him to stop. Bob starts up again and John does the same thing, trying to tickle him. Bob stops the skit and tells John to stop it this time.
“Oh you know you like it.” says Byrne.
“No cut it out so we can do this?”
“Oh come on, dont be shy. I know you like it” Byrne adopts the lisp.
All of a sudden, Bob embraces John lays one wet one on him. John is totally shocked as is the audience as it brought the house down. John gives right back and now they roll around and over the couch, bringing down the set and chasing the rest of the actors off it
Yea yea I know…not very PC but man when they went off tangent, it was hilarious.
